Misconceptions

About Radical Honesty

*You can get around the truth by not talking about it. Always talking about the truth is talkative radical honesty.

*Radical honesty is not brutal honesty. We word our opinions to not hurt others' feelings.

*We will not tell you our address if you ask us for it. Asking people for their address is creepy and wrong.

Autism Misconceptions

#I am not Rain Man. Some people are, but not all of them.

#I am proud of who I am and don't want a cure. The true voice of autism is autistic people such as myself.

#Why would I pity myself? Instead, I pity the people who do not know me as the flutist in cadet band, the one who got 98% on her math final (I hate math.), and the girl who eats lunch with boys?

Band

+Band is not a geeky subject. It is just perceived as such by jealous non-band people.

+It is not hard. It, like sports, takes time, practice, and passion.

+Band people like me do not covet your athleticism, normality, or appearance. We are proud of who we are.
