I am not what you think I am. You may think I am hopeless, but that is not true. I love my life, even with autism. One cannot say it is either blessing or curse. It is a little bit of both.
It is a curse when:
Radical honesty slips out and hurts someone
You misinterpret instructions and everyone calls you stupid
Everyone seems to have something bad to say about you
Nay sayers who never let you do anything
It is a blessing because:
It makes you think on a higher level.
It lets you see yourself in others
Whatever you do you do it passionately
I know words you might not.
It makes me realize how disparaging some things like *insert profane word for behind* burger or "Oh pity the autistic people. They have no future anyway," can be.
In conclusion, I command you to drop your test tubes and listen. Autism made me a better person.

My New Flute Book
My private lessons teacher gave me an intermediate level flute book. It's the blue Rubank one. My Essential Elements 1 was getting a little too easy. There are SHARPS in the key signature! I like a challenge. Any advice for a flute newb?

Cadet Band Practicing Contest
My band director gave us a sheet because we are having a practice contest! I really hope I win! He said there will be exciting prizes. My total is about an hour. I love my flute. It makes me happy when I hear it.

Radical Honesty Strikes Again
I do not like it when you help me when I don't ask for it. I know you are trying to be nice, but I find it offensive.
Today, I was doing something with my American History classmate, Erica. She set up points and I connected them with a straight line. Then, I had to erase it and trace the rivers. I told her that she butchered my mind and the teacher just HAD to intervene. This is true and a disadvantage to radical honesty.

Why We Need Self-Advocates
I am autistic, and I know those who do not know me are like "Oh, poor you. It must be so hard." It is not entirely a curse, but it can be a challenge. We need self-advocates, because high functioning people are the intermediaries between neurotypicals and other autistics. I did hear about the Connecticut shooting. Some blame autism, but I don't. I blame the human nature. Since the apple incident with Adam and Eve, we had the innate desire to kill. People who cause these tragedies cannot control that instinct and it gets out of control.
There is no link to autism and violence, but there is a link between humanity and violence. Sin entered the world and now our souls are corrupted, but our Lord and Savior redeemed us.

Why I like Radical Honesty
1. I am strong enough to tell white lies, but the truth is ALWAYS better in the long run.
(i.e. I hate yellow, no offense to yellow lovers, but I HATE IT.)
2. If you are honest, you receive help.
3. Sometimes people should hear what they don't want to hear.
4. Honesty is the best policy.
5. Honesty is one of the ten commandments.
6. Radical honesty is not intended for use as an insult. Choose your words carefully and you should be fine.
I have PDD NOS, which means radical honesty is built in.
