I am autistic, and I know those who do not know me are like "Oh, poor you. It must be so hard." It is not entirely a curse, but it can be a challenge. We need self-advocates, because high functioning people are the intermediaries between neurotypicals and other autistics. I did hear about the Connecticut shooting. Some blame autism, but I don't. I blame the human nature. Since the apple incident with Adam and Eve, we had the innate desire to kill. People who cause these tragedies cannot control that instinct and it gets out of control.
There is no link to autism and violence, but there is a link between humanity and violence. Sin entered the world and now our souls are corrupted, but our Lord and Savior redeemed us.
